PRESS RELEASE – THE KENOATH RACING TEAM RETURNS TO BATHURST.

Liam Curkpatrick – TCM Category Manager today announced a wild card entry has been granted to the Kenoath Racing Team for this year’s Bathurst round of THE Gulf Western Oil Touring Car Masters Series.

“We don’t expect the Kenzilla Ken Spec G60 to be a serious threat to series leader John Bowe, but we are a bit short on entertainment this year and this bucket of shit should give the crowd a chuckle or two”

Team driver Kenneth Oathington congratulated the category saying, “It’s great to see the sport opening up. We might not have the pull of Hansford’s A9X but we know a brick on wheels can capture the heart of the fans.”

Datto greats, Gentleman Jim Richards and Mark Skaiffe have been instrumental in the development of Kenzilla based on the legendary 1976 G60 Patrol.

Mark Skaiffe was diplomatic in his rating of the Ken Spec powered rig, “We put the thing in the wind tunnel and the fken roof blew off. We downed tools and went to the pub. The thing is a slug. It wouldn’t catch Robbie Francevic in an Iced Volvo”

Jim Richards lumped praise on the Kenoath Datto, “It’s a good thing…..have a look at it! More flash than Peter Janson at the Yacht Club on a Sunday arv. Admittedly the thing started going backwards at the cutting…but a grind into low gear fixed that. It’s quite impressive down Conrod……we hit the rev limiter at the first hump topping 35mph.”

Kenzilla is running a 4 litre straight six with cast iron headers and Brockie Polariser. Peak power on the dyno has seen 112kw.

Bathurst great Skaiffe summed it up best, “It might not pull the skin off a rice pudding, but can it be race favourite at the Mountain? Ken Oath it can!”

I believe the pit crew has been given special dispensation to wear white tee shirts blue jeans adidas sneakers and mullets whilst working before and during the race. Safari suits and dessert boots and big flared collars will be part of the more formal attire for special events and award acceptance. Luv ya work
